Our local Community Centre. In Aberfeldy – through the traffic
lights, up the hill and off to the right.
Open and available to visitors. Check opening times.
Swimming pool, squash courts, saunas, billiards, snooker.
Whitewater Rafting & Canyoning
This is available most days over a 6 mile course on the River Tay
from Aberfeldy to Grandtully. Not for the faint hearted or the unfit.
Rafting provided by various well organised operators in Aberfeldy,
employing fully qualified instructors.

Golf
Aberfeldy 18 hole course by the river.
Taymouth Castle (6 miles) a first class 18 hole course.
Kenmore. (6 miles) Super well groomed 9 hole course.
Pitlochry, (15 miles) Championship 18 hole course
Grandtully (5 miles) 9 holes. Hilly but not to be underestimated!
Killin. (23 miles) 9 holes.
Blair Atholl (20 miles) 9 holes.
Dunkeld (17 miles) 9 holes,
The famous courses at Rosemount (Blairgowrie), Gleneagles, and St.
Andrews are all within easy reach.
Fishing
Opportunities for both Trout and Salmon fishing are abundant.
Tennis, Putting and Bowling
All available in Aberfeldy.
Boating and Bathing
Boats can be hired at Loch Tay, Kenmore (6 miles). There is also a
sandy beach with shallow water providing safe bathing for children.
Hill Walking & Climbing
There are around 20 to 30 Munros within easy driving distance of our
holiday cottages.
The start points for the Munros in Drumochter, Rannoch & Ossian,
Glenlyon, & Killin areas are all well within an hours drive.
Walking
Perthshire is a vast area of open country, with the opportunity
for walks to cater for everyone's abilities. ‘Perthshire, Angus
& Fife Walks’ with 28 walking routes available from the
TIC.
Skiing
All the Scottish ski centres are easily accessible from Castle Menzies;-
We are virtually equidistant, and just over an hour from three, and
a little further from the other two.
There is an advantage in staying at Castle Menzies. We attempt to
beat the vagaries of the Scottish weather by awaiting the forecaste
each morning to predict which centre will afford the best weather
and snow conditions!

Curling
Have a go at Scotland’s Olympic sport.
Curl at the rinks in Pitlochry or Perth in the season.
Sailing
The Sailing Club, with launching facilities on Loch Tummel. Races
weekly throughout the summer.
Pony Trekking & Riding
Blair Castle (20 miles) run daily pony trecks on very docile Highland

Loch Tay Highland Lodges at Milton Morenish (19 miles), near Killin,
run both trekking/hacking and riding instruction for all abilities.

Clay Pigeon Target Shooting
Chesthill Shooting Ground, situated in a discreet location, in Glenlyon.
Shooting and instruction for all ages. Exciting sporting targets,
qualified instructors, guns provided (sizes for ladies & young
people).

Shooting & Deer Stalking
This is the centre of an area where there is ample opportunity for
deer stalking. Stalking for stags and hinds, in season, are available
on many estates around Aberfeldy.
